They took the Covenant Box to the tent which David had prepared for it and put it inside. Then they offered sacrifices and fellowship offerings to God.
Much humbler than Solomon consecrating the temple (1 Kings 8:10-11) but much more in line with the lives we are to live (Hebrews 11:8-10).
It was then that David first gave Asaph and the other Levites the responsibility for singing praises to the Lord.
Asaph who penned Psalms 73 – 83.
Be glad that we belong to him;
let all who worship him rejoice!
Go to the Lord for help,
and worship him continually.
May that be what I do continually, Father (Hebrews 10:19-23).
God’s people were few in number,
strangers in the land of Canaan.
They wandered from country to country,
from one kingdom to another.
Indeed (Genesis 46:26-27). It never ceases to amaze me how so few could become so many (Numbers 2:32). I do hope there will be something that endures after I pass from the scene, Lord.
…God let no one oppress them;
to protect them, he warned the kings:
“Don’t harm my chosen servants;
do not touch my prophets.”
Thank you, Father. You have protected me all these long years.
The Lord is great and is to be highly praised; …Glory and majesty surround him,
power and joy fill his Temple.
